I'm using an Acer Aspire 5920G, it's currently taking me about 5 or 6 minute's to burn a full 700MB audio CD, it was taking nearly 15 until I shut down task's, but I don't think I can go any further with that, and I'm no expert at it.
On my old desktop computer it only took about 1 minute or less, and that was while it wasn't even in perfect shape, my laptop on the other hand has just got the OS re-installed and I do believe it is perfect right now.
I understand that laptops are smaller and probably have a less burning power, but I have heard of people getting result's like 3 minute's.
It is really time consuming when burning a whole lot of CD's.
I don't even know how to view what speed the burner is set too
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Programs like imageburn allow you to choose options that can speed it up. Otherwise you're going to be limited by hard drive and ODD speed.

but what the hell
.
What is ODD anD HD Speed and how do I increase it (make it better), is it anything to do with Ram and CPU?
Sorry but I don't know much tech thing's about PC's.
Thanks a lot. -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Most notebook optical drives have slow write speeds. Best bet is to use a dedicated desktop or wall powered ODD. The trade off for a slim optical drive I suppose. And yes I second using ImgBurn.

A full audio CD takes about 3mins~ to burn on my desktop @ 48x
When you say its taking 1min to burn on your desktop, was that an audio or data cd? -
I could be wrong about the 1 min part, but I'm pretty certain of it, it definitely wasn't any longer than 2 mins anyway.
cheers. -
your better of writing audio cd`s at a lower speed
some car or home cd players dont like it if the disks have been written to fast
they can have more errors -

I go 4x-8x for dvd, I think I use 24x for CD but have not used a CD in so long
I always stick with a lower speed even if my drive goes faster just for quality sake, also just as important as the speed of the ODD is the quality of your media.
I like Verbatim, never had even one coaster with them.
Media quality is probably the most important single piece in the entire chain of burning.
If your not liking your software IMGBurn is free open source software that is very good. -
Desktop CD burners = 52x
Laptop CD burners = 24x
There is no way to make it faster. They are limited to that speed because of power requirements and the vibration considerations in laptops. So yeah, 4-5mins is probably the best you'll get with ANY program.
Can someone help me get faster burn speed's please?
