    Hello,

I am thinking about buying an Inspiron 1720. For 70$ CA I can upgrade to 800 Mhz FSB (vs. 667 Mhz FSB).

Tech support said the chipset is either the Intel GM965 or PM965, they were not sure which.

Can these chipsets even support the 800 Mhz FSB upgrade? Is it worth the upgrade in terms of performance, e.g., gaming?

I was going to go with 4 gb shared dual channel ddr sdram at 667 mhz.

    Thanks
