I just won a Samsung SyncMaster 244T w/24", 1920x1200, 25ms, DVI specs.. I'm going to buy a desktop replacement laptop for college soon and was hoping I could just use this screen instead of the tiny ones on notebooks b/c right now I'm using a 23" Apple Cinema display with my desktop and am just used to the size, but this only possible due to the GeForce 8800 GTX video card.
Can this be done with notebook video cards? Do the new Centrino Duo models offer adequate digital video output? Just better than S-video out is what I mean, for like the occasional dorm late-night movie watching? Or should I just buy a 17" DTR notebook instead? Thanks in advance!

You will have no problems if you purchase a laptop with a DVI port.

Any video card nowadays will be more than adequate. Does your monitor have a VGA port as well? Also, how did you win it?

thx for the info!
btw, I just graduated from HS so as a parting gift to our senior class a drawing with prizes was held.. pretty much everyone won something above $100 lol -
Goddamn lucky you. I left high school with the govenor's award and only got a £20 book voucher. You must go to one rich high school.
Can the Intel X3100 or better graphics card support hi-res output for this monitor?
