I'd like to know if this is being considered. Like, what cpu is good for what, and how much cpu do you really need for what?
In a laptop world where everyone is not sure the 2.4GHZ with 3mb cache is going to be completely dominated by a 2.5GHZ with 6mb cache and in what programs and circumstances, we are truly in need of one of these guides if one does not exist already.
I, for one, would like to know, what kind of CPU should I get for complex Excel documents and calculations, 30 pages worth, all interconnected, or would the speed of a core 2 duo even matter with the technology this brand uses?

Yeah, and check the Hardware General Info Sticky Index **Read Before Posting** for more guides and info.

The CPU's you are talking about are more than enough for Office apps. Having large amount of RAM is more critical for most Office apps. Consider 90% of business does not buy cutting edge technology, at least insofar as notebooks and even desktops. MS for the most part wants to have their products usable by as many systems as possible. More profits.
Can we have a CPU guide like we do a GPU guide?
