The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. I would assume it has something to do with how well the transistors conduct electricity after awhile. But that is pretty interesting.

This reads like a special for today... Time dilation holds for moving particles, in both inertial and non-inertial frames of reference. For a transistor, we can argue that the electrons are subject to time dilation, but they are also constantly being replaced. The actual effect on the physical semiconductors is going to be just normal wear, which is always happening over time. However, for semiconductors, such wear is considerably less than normal conductors/resistors. 10-15 % is off the mark by at least 5 or 6 orders of magnitude. The article just doesn't hold up to anyone with a knowledge of electronics and physics.
Nice try for an all fools day joke, though.

This is definitely a hoax - I mean, look at the quote from an AMD exec at the bottom. While I admit they're a very competent company, breaking Einsteinian physics is probably just a little beyond their grasp. ;)

And in case anyone wants to know, computers feel slower over time primarily because Windows gets slower over time - crap clogs the registry, old drivers get left behind, the NTFS journal gets larger, and the temporary files (yes, even if you run "Disk Cleanup" there are some that stay behind) compound until the system grinds to a halt.

This is very true. Reinstalling windows is the greatest! :)

I know, Intel would be doing that if anyone was going to. Not AMD. :p
