    Ok, this is the dilemma.

The laptop I want is a 6 cell, and only supports up to 1 hr 30 min of life.

    Sucks.

I looked up the price of a 9 cell, and it costs higher than 150 bucks.

So, my question is, can I use for example a Dell Inspiron 7200 mAh 9 cell to replace a 4800 Asus 6 cell on an Asus G60vx?

I'm sorry mods, I did not see the sticky for batteries.

Theoretically, you could open up a brand-new 6 or 9-cell battery pack of one battery brand, and rebuild your old battery pack with the cells from the new battery pack. You'd have to be good at soldering, *and* the cells would need to be compatible.

I would highly recommend against such a course of action though, as the consequences of rebuilding a battery pack incorrectly are, but not limited to, severe laptop damage, fire, or personal injury, either during the rebuilding process, or when you're using the completed battery.
