Can you install games and other programs on a USB drive - and will they work just like a regular install to your internal drive? Maybe games will run slower?

Will this mess up you resistry when it refers to stuff not existing when the drive is unplugged?

If you're already doing this tell us how good it's working.

I suppose USB expansion drives are a good option because laptop drives are so small.

They would run normally, even if the registry points to none existant stuff. Just watch out if you run one of those registry cleaning programs, cause they would delete such entries if they point no where.

But expect significantly slower performance. USB transfers don't do well with multiple small transfers (as is the case with running programs)
