Hey all
Having a hard time locating my GeForce gt320m GPU in my ASUS k50ID. I can see what appear to be two NVidia chips. These were directly under my fan and heatsink. Neither of them are labeled 320m or anything related to my gpu. (google search identifies as chipsets?) Im reapplying thermal paste and trying to combat gpu heating problems. (100c under load)
Any help would be super appreciated.
pic is attached. sorry for quality. Cpu is located just above battery. the two chips visible are both NVidia but are labled N11p-GV2-A3 and MCP79D-B2. From what I understand this is my motherboard chipset. This makes me think my graphics are integrated?
again, any help is super appreciated.
Parker.

If I had to hazard a guess, the one off to the right since it has RAM around it, RAM can't stray too far from whatever CPU/GPU is connected to it

MCP79 is your motherchip chipset as you identified, the one marked N11P should be your GT320M.

Due to the high speed and width of the memory interface the GPU is always the chip with the more widely spaced black memory chips around it where as the CPU if it has soldered memory will tend to have it in banks and all together, the GPUs also tend to have laser etched markings on them.

I would say from the picture lacking enough light to see the details the chip with the 4 smaller squares surrounding it is the GPU. But you first need to give more light so we can actually see the board itself to even begin to see the hardware itself.

Hard to see but looks like it says "NVIDIA" on the top right chip

with lower-end gpu, they are usually soldered onto the motherboard and it's doesn't goes in favor of good cooling... re-applying thermal paste is a good idea but i would also suggest buying a cooler pad for the laptop to put on...

Can you spot my GPU?
