    Title says it all. Is it possible to get a 3D screen and swap with the current 2D one, what's the differences ? Connector ?

    And does all 5xxxM + 6xxxM ATI cards support HD3D ? The HP Envy 17 with 5850m does, I have a 5830m in mine.

    The Lenovo Ideapad Y560d 0646-2KU 15.6 Screen supports 3D (it features 5730m). Acer AS5738DG-6165 15.6 Screen (ATI 4570m). Toshiba Satellite A665-3DV8 15.6 Screen (NVIDIA GeForce GTS 350M).

    According to this source:
    "ATI/AMD video card inside to a 3D capable HDTV by taking advantage of the AMD HD3D Technology, although I suppose that the same may apply to when using a 120Hz LCD monitor too.
    - You need to have an ATI Radeon HD 5000 series or AMD Radeon HD 6000 series of GPU, older video cars are not compatible with the AMD HD3D Technology."

    It seems to me that it's a matter of a proper 3D screen and driver I suppose ? And if it was possible, what would be the best 15.6 3D screen (and good for your eyes) ? And what would be the best shutter glass ? (Xpand,etc.)

    And what are IZ3D and DDD TriDef, which is better ? (in terms of what)

    A laptop with a 1080p screen option can take a 720p (1366x768) 3d screen.

    720p 2d screen = 30 wire cable (1 LVDS channel)
    1080p 2d screen/ 720p 3d screen = 40 wire cable (2 LVDS channels)
    1080p 3d screen = 50 wire cable (3 LVDS channels)

    Twice the refresh rate = twice the bandwidth required.

    @Meaker

    Any idea of the brand/model number of those new Lighboost 1080P panels in Toshibas?
