I currently use a Fujitsu N3530 with ATI X1400, I am planning on getting a 22" wide lcd with a native resolution of 1680x1050, but from tha available adjustments in the windows properties, its seems the closest I can set it is 1600 x 1200. Is there a way for my notebook to see the actual native resolution and allow me to use 1680 x 1050?

Yes you can. I have a lousy integrated ati card and works fine powering a 22" LCD @ 1680*1050.

It's not the power of the card, it's the correct drivers. So if you have the latest drivers, you will be able to select the correct resolution.

I think with Fujitsu I can't get latest drivers directly with ATI and use only updates from Fujitsu. Currently I don't think Fujitsu has the latest drivers for the ATI X1400.

You can go to the ATI site and approximate. I have a Radeon Mobility 9000 and got a 9000 series driver on the site (which theoretically isn't in the Mobility product line), and it works just fine. There's no guarantee it will work, so buy from a place you can easily return the product if you have issues.
