I have a question about a msata drive. I just ordered a laptop and I ant to put in a 240gig intel ssd drive as my boot drive.
I also ordered a msata 64 gig ssd drive, the laptop i want to put these ssd drives in already has a 750 gig drive. What I
want to do is to install windows on the intel 240ssd drive and use the 64gig msata ssd drive as a caching drive for the 750 gig
hard drive. My question is can you use a msata ssd drive to cach the 750 hard drive even though windows is not on it? And
would it make the 750gig drive faster ? I want to put all my games on the non 750 hard drive to spped them up...

I don't see why not. Have you tried to do so, using Intel RST (Rapid Storage Technology)? It should let you.

I guess when I get my Alienware lap-top I will try it. If it dosen't work then I will just use the msata 64 gig drive for my games.

No, it won't let you. Use it as a 'game' drive.

Unless you install the HDD on port 1 (and the msATA is port 0) and the SSD is port 2 Intel RST won't allow what you think will happen.

And thinking about it: it isn't worth it anyways (using a 64GB mSATA SSD to give a 750GB HDD an up to 30% boost in 'performance'). Better to use it (the mSATA drive) directly and get 100% SSD performance from everything you install/store there.

    Hope this helps.
