I can open the hard drive bay no problem but when I try to open up (where I assume the RAM is held, it's the only other part that's unscrewable) the screw is stuck. I can unscrew it only so far and the every twist it makes a little "click" and won't go further as if the other side were blocking it.

So what's up, am I SOL about upgrading RAM?

    ???

Just pull up on the cover at that point - the only thing holding it on now is a bit of plastic tabs.

I'll try... I don't want to break it. It really doesn't seem like it's coming out.

yea, as tilleroftheearth said; you have to just pull the cover up and away (sometimes you have to shimmy it with a flat bladed screw driver, it has little plastic clips and all you need to do is separate the case just enough so the clip isn't stuck)... I've had those kinds of laptops before, and while it will seem like something might break from the force you have to apply, I have never seen it happen before

Alright... I was a bit nervous. I'll give it a go later.

I was very worried I'd break it but it did in fact pop out.

    Thank you.

I had the same problem with my YB. This a big problem with their laptops, even if before they made it absolutely impossible to do upgrades. At least now they're only very difficult

I haven't worked with the E, so I can't say for sure. But if it's anything like mine, you should try and get a flathead under the top portion of the cover and feel for a part that's thinner and easier to get under. Use that as the starting point to pry open the cover, should you choose to do this.

The screws twisting thing is normal (f'in bugged the crap outta me).
