When I try to run Battlefield 2 with my FS Amilo Xa2528 through an external monitor, the games refuses to start. The GPU is a Geforce 8600M GS.
If I use the laptop screen on the other hand it works as it should.

I can't try it with any other games at the moment, and I am curious if I will be able to play games at all with an external monitor? Is there some limitation that I am not aware of, or is this just a driver/software bug?

I bought the laptop partly because it had DVI and I thought I would be able to play with my 22" LCD.

External monitor refresh rate set to 60hz?

Also, try deleting your user profile folder (or whatever it's called). I think in there it contains your game settings, so deleting that will restore your BF2 game to factory settings.
