Hi all,
I'm looking for a card reader that will fit into a slimline optical slot. If anyone knows of the existence of such an item, I would be grateful.
Regards,

I have never seen one. I figure you will have to go with a USB one. -
Well this exists, which isn't quite what I want:
BR-SATA Mounting Bracket For SATA CF Card Reader - iDOTpc International, Inc
So I wouldn't give up hope just yet. -
Considering that DVD drives use sata connectors and I've never seen any card readers use sata, I don't think it's too likely you'd find one.

I'm sorry, why should the interface type matter? I'm looking to mount a card reader in place of an optical drive. I didn't ask for a card reader using a SATA interface.
-
Because all you can hook the drive to is a SATA connector unless you have mad soldering skills. Motherboards on laptops aren't like desktop motherboards where you have a ton of headers waiting for devices to be plugged in. I mean you might be lucky and have some sort of USB connector free somewhere, but i highly doubt it.
