If you're connecting via USB I doubt you'd notice the difference.

If you used eSata it might be a difference though - or if you move the drive to a NAS later.

The lack of reviews and not very positive reviews IMO make me not recommend that u buy this drive... Its from an unknown brand and really your way safer and better off buying western digital my book external hard drive or something... it will be a similar price but there will be greater reliability...

Do you go online and write review if you buy a product?
You'll most likely complain if you have a problem.

And drives - the question is what is inside - most likely one of the "Big names".

Cavalry has made external hard drives for a long time, and the drive that my cousin has (an old 500GB model) and my CAXM3701T0 are both working very well. If you look at that link, the reviews are actually quite favorable.

My only issue with the drive is that the light is annoyingly bright, but that's a minor point. By the way, the drive that was inside mine was a Hitachi 7200RPM drive. My drive came with a PCI-E SATA adapter for a desktop, as well as an eSATA and USB 2.0 cable.

Strangely enough, though, prices seem to have gone up. I got mine for $75 from Newegg almost a year ago.

Thanks for the tips. My girlfriend has had a 1 TB cavalry drive for a year now with no problems. I just didn't know if there was any difference between the models that I didn't see.

I wish I could get one for $75! I've been checking and the prices seem pretty static around $100.
