    Hi!

Which CPU is the better one? An Intel Celeron M 550 @ 2,0 GHz or an Intel C2D T1600 @ 1,66 GHz?

I'm going to use my laptop just for websurfing and work.

I'm going to say the C2D is a little stronger. You'll get better battery life, too.

Stronger I dont know, but you will not get a better battery life for sure. The T1600 is a Celeron and by definition Celerons don't support Speed Step. Battery life should be the same if not less in the case of the T1600 :)

Yeah, the T1600... where there are two T1600s, actually; there's a Core Solo and Celeron Dual-Core with the same name.

I'm assuming you're talking about the Celeron Dual-Core here, since the 550 is Socket P. As mentioned, the T1600 will indeed be somewhat faster, but it will consumer more power. You're better off looking for a real C2D or even a Pentium Dual-Core.
