Yes and no...
Intel Core Duo is the name given to ONLY the processor or CPU (Central Processing Unit). In very simple terms, just think of it as the Brain of the laptop, calculating everything and doing all the work.
Intel Centrino Duo is more than just the CPU. It also contains an Intel Chipset (a chip on the motherboard that connects the CPU and various components to other components) and a wireless networking card.

This Core Duo thing of the processor means there are essentially two CPUs on the motherboard, but the motherbord sees it as one. Both CPUs share the same facilities and resources on the motherboard and so, you can run two programs simultaneouly and with minimal or no lag.
The advantage of having Centrino Duo over Core Duo is mainly the fact that you get more battery life, because of the low voltage components.
