I recently upgraded my screen to an IPS on and everything about it seems to be better - except for the fact that shades of purple, particularly the whole transition from red to purple, is far duller than anything else. Having red, green or blue individually be dull makes a lot more sense, i'm not sure why it has such an issue with purple. I've tried many different color profiles(ICC etc.) and nothing seems to work.

Is the monitor just like this? The reviews all suggested it was good and had expanded colour range.

Was this part of the hardware the match the system you have not something you mixed and match? If the later then this is enduser fault unless this came from factory upgrade then you need to contact their support and get this fixed.
