Hi, I have an ASUS N81Vp that have an ATI Radeon 4650 1GB DDR3, the problem is that my graphic card is broken and I need to change it.

I know that it has a MXM II port, and in theory it should support any of these cards:

But I am not sure, I can´t find exactly my graphic card.

Here a picture of my graphic card:

    What Can I do?

You could try to bake your graphic card before you throw it away, I know I would, it's shot anyways. You might get lucky.

    here's how: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=437683

Bake only your graphics card not the whole motherboard. I think it says bake for 10 min let cool for 20 min. If the solder starts melting don't try to put it back inside, you'll ruin the motherboard too. It means you set-up the oven temp too high.

You will need to use an Asus MXM II graphics card. Your average MXM II will not work. As you may know, Asus uses a flipped connector design, therefore rendering most MXM II cards incompatible. However, those cards in the link may work, as they are Asus type, but I would recommend getting the original model card unless you are an experienced user. You may have to resize heatsinks and heat spreaders, and you may have to flash the BIOS of the GPU to get it to work correctly.

The card is completely dead, It doesn´t show any image.
Tomorrow I will call to ASUS and ask for another graphic card, the problem is that I live in a country where ASUS doesn´t have support. So, send the laptop to USA is not a possible option. I guess that the graphic card would cost more than $200...

Come on, I am not gonna sell for scrap a laptop with only 5 months.

    4GB DDR2-800 Ram
    320GB Seagate Hard Drive

Shouldn't your warranty still be valid?

I have one year warranty, but I disarm the machine and I think that I lose it. I don´t live at USA, and in my country ASUS does´t have support, So maybe my only solution is send the laptop to USA...

I'll second the baking idea. If you have not tried it you should. You don't have anything left to loose and some people have saved hundreds by doing this
