I recently bought an Acer 5100 laptop. Great inexpensive laptop for the price ($500 for AMD Turion MK-36 2GHz, 2GB RAM, 120GB HDD, 256MB ATI X1100). The only thing I don't like about it is the glossy screen. It has a terrible glare. Is there any way to reduce the glare? I'd hate to ruin the screen, but if there is an aftermarket product that will reduce the glare without much issue, I'd be happy to try it.

    Thanks.

I don't have a good answer but no one has answered. You should be able to get a piece of plastic type material that would hide glare (tinted or some other light diffusion technology) should stick to screen like my nephews re-usable stickers (static?). I would not try and remove gloss with chemicals. But if you want to PICRAN would probably work. In the late 70's the 1st thing I talked about was used, kind of sunglasses for the TV.
