I changed the ram on my system yesterday. Today when i tried running Crysis 2 on my system it won't run. I would start it and nothing happens for a while and then i get the errorr- "Crysis 2.exe has stopped working". Then I try Homefront and I get this error - 'The program can't start because X3DAudio1_7.dll is missing from your system. I try Crysis next and get this error- 'Failed to load the game dll'. Next I run Unreal tournament 3, and the game simply crashes as soon as I spawn in the starting of a match. I don't know what is up with my system? I have to go somewhere right now and I'll try reinstalling one of the games when I am free. But I still don't understand what happened.

Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
the problem is the system, you got it from hell.
now, what you can do is to run memtest, and try each module, there MIGHT be i some defective ram in there.
however the dll problem this is done by messing in the registry or virus, which was the culprit? -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Were the games working beforehand?
As stated above, run a few passes of memtest always when upgrading new RAM to ensure they are good. -
Always take the battery out of the laptop and disconnect the AC adapter before accessing your RAM. Try to re-seat the RAM, the memory sticks need to be fully inserted, switch them in between if possible. If this doesn't help the RAM may not be compatible with your machine. Check if the RAM specs reported match the ones your laptop is supposed to accept.
Install the old RAM sticks back in. -
Yeah they were running just fine. Now I have reinstalled Crysis 2 and it works well, in the process of reinstalling Homefront. But what did happen?
It could not have been a virus, as i just added an SSD and reinstalled windows on Sunday, games worked fine that day. The only thing I had installed were the games and Google Chrome. I tried installing Blackberry desktop manager today but it did not work, kept saying the exe was corrupt, that could've been a virus but it was downloaded directly from BBs site so i highly doubt it. I know I did not mess with the registry. How could bad ram have this effect?? Anyway I doubt it was the ram as Crysis 2 works fine after a reinstall.
UPDATE: Homefront reinstall complete, runs just fine. But the question is what the hell was the problem. I have updated ram before and never had any problems. These rams did have a higher clock speed(1600mhz vs 1333 for last ones). -
Check the s.m.a.r.t. data on your SSD drive (Crystal Disc Info is a easy to use program to do so), it is quite possible your SSD is going under [data corruption/ loss is the #1 sign of a SSD/ HDD failure -beyond checking the smart data]
If this is a new to you SSD, it might be a fake SSD; a lot of people who have bought from ebay, Amazon, and even brick & mortar stores have reported getting fake SSD drives/ flash memory devices (say a 32GB SSD flashed to appear as a 240GB SSD; the biggest tell tale sign was data corruption, especially after the drive started to store more data than it could actually hold -so if you stored more than 32GB on the '240GB drive' it would get corrupted and lose data)
To test it out, first check the smart data with Crystal Disc Info; then run Crystal Disc Mark to see how it is performing, then try filing up the drive and see if the data remains intact. I would run mem test at some point (you run it from before you boot into windows, you hold F8 when booting to get to the advanced options, it should be there), but based on what you said I think it is the SSD... it is also possibly something else, but IDK -
The SSD is Intel 510 120gb. I bought it from ebay but i think it is genuine since it came in a sealed Intel box. But the games were installed on my 750gb 7200rpm hdd. Only Crysis 2 was installed on SSD. Anyway after reinstalling crysis 1 & 2 and Homefront I tested UT3(without reinstalling) and it has started working fine. I think it might have been Direct X error, i did bit research and found out that the error i got in Homefront was related to directX.
Crystal disk info shows health status as good. Performance on Crystal mark is on par with reviews. -
If thats true I would be sooo PO!
Changed ram on my system, now games don't run
