    Hi everyone,

I have a silly question, last week i bought a new laptop, a Fujitsu Lifebook AH530 GFX ( Intel P6200 2,13. AMD Radeon HD 6530M 1gb, 4gb ddr3, 250 GB hdd 5400 rpm), The lapy was arround 370, so i know i shouldnt be asking for much...

The question is, if i change my HDD to a Seagate Momentus XT, will my games run faster? (The main objective is to for me to have more HDD space, because at the moment i only have "230 GB" and thats very low :/ and also the HDD is only 5400...)

I already know that games like GTA 4 need a good CPU(even quads), but since my cpu is builded on the same achi. as a i3... i can play the game on high, but some times when i drive very fast it takes time to load some objects (like plants or trash bins, the street etc). Will it also afect other games if i change the HDD? ( FPS, etc)
The Seagate XT is arround 85€ (500gb) and the "non SDD 500gb ones" are arround 50€.

Sorry for the stupid questions... :3

    Thank you :]

HDD makes very little difference in game performance, only in loading times and things like that.

Also this should be in the Hardware components forum.

Ty for the reply and sorry if this is on the wrong zone O:

Well, since the main goal was to get a biger drive, thats why i was thinking that... BUT if the that XT hdd will not help me boost my FPS, then i think maybe a Western Digital VelociRaptor will, its 10krpm. What do you think :)?

I tryed searching google to find if it will help on FPS but one ever asked that it seems o.0

I saw a 500GB hdd 7200rpm BUT its 16MB cache and no internal SSD hmm

The only thing rotational speed will change is loading applications and read/write speed.

As stated, faster drives will only reduce load times. You are probably limited by the GPU/CPU before the HDD speed.

the Western Digital VelociRaptor is for servers and cannot be used in a laptop.
If you want to upgrade your hard drive check out the Western Digital Scorpio Black (500gb or 750gb) they're VERY fast, and don't consume too much power.
That being said, it wont make a difference in games, except fast loading times, but since you have 250gb you might aswell upgrade regardless.
