    what type of gpu do i need for a vostro 1500.Is it AGP or IGP, i have a 8400M GS card .Im getting a 9800M Gt with a new Mobo.

    It's not AGP and IGP is not a graphics port. The GPU is built into a proprietary module that only works with the Vostro 1500 and Inspiron 1520. You can ONLY get an 8400M or an 8600M. You CANNOT get an 9800M. You CANNOT get a Vostro 1500 or Inspiron 1520 board that will support an 9800M or DDR3 memory or a 1066MHz FSB processor or any of your other upgrade fantasies.
