    Hey everyone,

Is there software and a guide somewhere for changing your memory timings? I'm comfortable using SetFSB to change my FSB frequency, but I'd like to push my CPU further and I think my RAM is my bottleneck, so I'd like to lower its frequency. Why? Just because.

So I'm really looking for software here that ideally doesn't flash anything--just lowers timings within Windows, if that's possible. Also important is a guide, since I have no idea what numbers to bring down/up.

I've heard of MemSet and SPDTool but I can't find a guide anywhere.

Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks!

I haven't run across anything like that here - but, of course, I haven't looked either. :)

What I have read on that topic though does involve flashing the RAM - so if you really want to do this - you may want to pick up a couple of throw away sticks to see if it will work in your situation.

    Good luck.

Yes, you can change them, but the ram is not holding you back.

Hey guys thanks for the replies!

@Tiller: Thanks! I'm trying to avoid flashing anything, OCing is fun but I have bad luck with hardware and don't want to risk anything more than I should. I do have two 512MB sticks I could test on, though. Maybe I'll see how that goes... hmmm... :)

@Trottel: You appear to be right! I used to have a P8400, and I could OC the FSB from 266 to 317MHz stably. Now I have an E8335 (T9800) and last night I was running ~323MHz just fine (3.552 GHz). I tried changing the voltage with ThrottleStop but I couldn't make it go any higher (I had no problems undervolting, though). I'll have to try Crystal CPUID tonight and see if I can do anything with that.

So I guess the main reasons for this thread are moot now, but thanks for the responses, guys! +rep
