    Hey there,

I was just wondering how easy it is to change the hard-drive on my Travelmate 4501LCi laptop? I'm outside of warranty now, and i'm in need of more space.
Also, am i right in thinking any standard 2.5" EIDE Laptop drive fit...

    Cheers

Yes it will fit. Usually a few screws to remove and slide it out.

    What he said. ^

You also might consider getting an external 2.5" enclosure for your old drive. That way, you have an external hard drive that you can store and back up your data to. They run about $15-$25. :)

    Cool.
Yeh, a caddy was the plan.

On another note, is it possible to put PC3200 Ram in the laptop? I know the current stuff is rated at PC2700, but will it make a difference/not be compatible? Just the 3200 stuff is cheaper atm, lol.

    Cheers

Yes, you can put in PC3200, it's just that it will probably not run at that speed - the motherboard is BIOS locked.
