    is there something wrong with charging my iPod (via USB) while my laptop is running on batteries?

    does it hurt the laptop's battery in any way?

    If you use your notebook on battery a lot it will make no difference.

    It doesn't hurt your battery or laptop, but you will experience unnoticeably shorter battery life.
