Just to clarify - you plan on removing the drive and using it as an internal drive, correct?

If you're planning to use it as an internal drive -- it is 12.5mm thick.

    Yes.

    Because
    1) Can't find them
    2) Need 1 enclosure, might as well get the other one for future usage.

What's the normal thickness? And how hard would it be to fit?

Only for Americans -- newegg gives Canadians the shaft every day.

That's an important piece of information. There'll be many laptops that won't fit.

normal thickness is 9.5mm, i would imagine it would be quite a snug fit if the SATA connections line up.

I think I have to re-emphasize that I live in Canada.

    Any american-priced items become overpriced.

As much as I would like to get a pair of Seagates, these Fujitsus stuck out cause they were so cheap.

the fujitsu's you are finding are cheap for a reason. They are 12.5mm thick drives, as it the Hitachi 5k500. The 12.5mm thick drives will not fit in many laptops. You are going to need to buy a standard 9.5mm thick harddrive.
If you want a harddrive which will fit in your laptop, the seagate 500gb, wd 500gb and the hitachi 5k500.b are all good options.

You probable should wait a couple of weeks more. Seagate 7200.4 500GB 2.5IN hard drive is coming out in the next a couple of weeks, and it is available at NCIX for $169.
