I was thinking of replacing the SSD in the EEEPC 901 with either A) A higher capacity one, B) A faster one, or C) both depending on the price.

Any recommendations? Where does the SSD in the 901 rank speed wise? Not that well I imagine? Ideally I'm looking for a 16 gig SSD that's slightly faster/less crap than the one in the 901, but not necessarily as good as a runcore.

Basically the Runcores are a little pricy or me, so I'm looking for something a step down.

Can you even replace an SSD in the EEE?

I was thinking the SSD was soldered to the motherboard but there's so many versions of EEEs that I could be mistaken.

You can't replace the 4 gig one on the 901, so I imagine the 701 has just that 4 gig one. Must be a lot of empty space in the 701s though.

I don't think it's impossible to have both with a good bargain price, try browsing for online sellers of SSDs..
