Found this seller on Amazon. They look the goods, and $700 is about the cheapest I've seen that are genuine OEM's and not engineering samples (word on the street is that the ES's run hot). Has anyone bought from here? Or are there better options around? If I can't find a better option I will order one from here in about a fortnight and let you know how it goes.

When the 940 comes, it will be an excellent time to get a 920. That's smart thinkin :)

you can get them for $400-500 OEM from ebay as well if you look at the descriptions enough.

$500 A couple of people on here have bought from that seller and have had no issues so far.

Yep, that's the cheapest option so far, till HP starts the "extreme disposal" campaign again ;)

BTW, the x40's are coming soon.

The link I provided is a ES sample yes, that seller seems to test them before shipping for abnormal behavior and many people run the processors he has sold. You can purchase OEM samples from ebay as well however.

I personally both used an ES and OEM 920XM and I can 100% conclude that ES 920XM's are problematic mainly in temps and stability tests, heck I even tried 3 ES 920XM's all with the same problems.

I'm not sure where you can buy OEM 920XM's in eBay.
