    Hey,

My ASUS U46SV screen recently died and I'm just wondering where I could find replacement screen on the cheap as although I've scoured sites like ebay and amazon they are all very expensive with some ranging in excess of £300 which isn't a believable price considering the laptop cost me £950 new.

I can tell it's just the screen as the laptop works fin when connected to an external display although the internal laptop screen refuses to work and just stays black so I'm sure it's just a display problem So I'm here to ask people who are vastly more knowledgeable than me about where to get cheaper screens from.

I believe they're just standard 14.1" panels and all I need is the actual panel as the lid is fine. Although I could be wrong as I haven't opened up the lid yet to check the panel connectors in case it's anything propiatory. I would preferably like it to be a 1080p display although my budget is tight and I would like to find something that's as cheap as possible. I don't mind if it's third party either as I can understand the official AUS panels might be a bit steep. As long as it fits and works I don't really mind.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Regards,
    Enya,

Look at online LCD specialist retailers. Ebay can be good sometimes but often you're getting something refurbished or used from a private party. A lot of LCD retailers will have even new screens in their inventory - or sometimes the screens are just pulled from a system that had another problem.

A search will pull up quite a few vendors/suppliers/retailers. :)

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. Do you know of any recommended online vendors? I've had a look around but I can't find any specific laptop dealers,
