I have decided on a laptop, but need to figure out what processor. I have three options of the 3 the Intel is $100 more dollars. The laptop is the same on all other options.. The choices are..

    Intel Pentium dual-core T3400(2.16GHz) CPU FSB 667MHz L2 Cache 1MB

    AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-57 1.9 GHz L2 Cache 512kb

    AMD Turion™ X2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor RM-70 2.0 GHz L2 Cache 1MB

    Thanks for the advice

the intel is going to be way faster than the AMD's. Also is better battery wise. When it comes to mobile processors i always choose intel.

Well, let's put it this way: you aren't going to notice much difference between the performance of all three choices based on what you're doing. The AMD choices are going to be cheaper, but harder on your battery life. The Intel choice is going to be more expensive, but generally less power-consuming. So it matters what you value; downright cost or other factors...

I'd personally choice Intel. Heat, noise, battery are all very important to me.

Go with Intel even if it's $100 more.
It will produce better battery life and better performance overall should you be doing some more intensive tasks.

I would go with the turion RM-70. Dont listen to people that intel is low end with a slow FSB low L2 cache and clock speed. The turion is mid range and will be better.

lulz..ok, my opinion. Go with the Intel PDC, even if you have to pay a bit more for it.
You can undervolt that Intel with RMClock, etc and improve its power efficieny significantly. And the T3400 has a faster clock speed, so clock-to-clock, it'll be much faster than the Athlon and Turion.
You can compare the CPUs here.
And if your notebook is not based on a budget chipset, you can upgrade the CPU to a Core 2 Duo yourself later.
