So many to choose from and don't know what to pick?
Intel Core 2 Duo:
- T7250
- T7500
- T7700
- T7800
- T8100
- T8300
- T9300
- T9500
I'll be multitasking, playing music and movies and casual gaming (something like Guild Wars, nothing intense)

The T7250 would be plenty for your tasks. What are the prices of all these cpus on the laptop you're looking at?
-
I second the T7250, you do not need more than a mobile pentium 4 to run the processes you mentioned. The T7500 offers much more performance than the 7250, since it has double the cache levels. But will you need all of that power, most likely not.

Does the CPU I choose affect whether or not I can upgrade a laptop to its max memory (4GB)?
-
No,
If you choose to get any of those processors, you will be able to upgrade to 4Gb of memory.

OT: Do you know if Lenovo Canada sends customers Vista CDs?
-
I have no clue.
You are going to have to email sales to find that out.
Actually you are better off calling, at least you will know if you get an answer.
I know with Dell, they give you a Dellified operating system, and recovery disks.
I am not sure with Lenovo. I have a lenovo, but it was awarded out of scholarship, and it did not come with any operating system disks.

I think Lenovo has those "free" Penryn upgrades [free when matched against a corresponding Merom]. I'd say get the T8100 then.
-
^^
2nd that. if it is not too different try getting T8xxx or T9xxx. Both are penryn based and operate cooler. -
I'm debating of getting either T8300 or T9300. Which one is better? (I want something that's good for 4 years - not too out-of-date)
-
lol
in 4 years, both will be out of date
get the best you can afford now
or wait a month and a better one will come out or the prices will fall- it never fails
