    I understand that the dual-core chips are going to have an integrated GPU for better battery life, etc.. But that aside, will Arrandale be faster than Clarksfield?

    Since I'm looking for a powerhouse desktop replacement (not to concerned about battery life) would waiting for Arrandale be pointless? Are there any other benefits I don't' know of?

    Arrandale = 2 cores
    Clarksfield = 4 cores

    4>2

    an integrated GPU is not going to make up for a lack of 2 additional cores.

    For pure computing power on a supported platform (software), Clarksfield is untouchable compared to any other notebook CPU. However, if CPU computing is your main priority, consider a desktop CPU in a desktop replacement notebook.
