You can thank Paladin 44 for this, but if you clean the screen with 50/50 mixture of Isopropyl alchohol and water, and use a microfiber cloth it works really.

I use lens cleaners to clean my display. They are widely available at pharmacies or opticians.

Use a soft microfiber type cloth and maybe a little water for a smudge. DO NOT use ANY cleaning agent at all. Even if it is 'for lcds'. They can very easily damage your display.

How do you figure stuff that is specifically made for LCDs will damage them?

any kind of cleaning agent has the ability to damage the screen. There is really no need to use them. a microfiber cloth will keep you LCD perfectly clean and for the occasional smudge water will get it. Look at it this way. Is it worth the $600 or so to replace an LCD when a cleaner is unnecessary?

I only use a rag of cleanning dust. I make a little presure on sites that have finger prints. The rag is cleaned without any product and normaly of cotton.
