Hi. I'm hoping somebody can help me. I have a Clevo D900K with an Nvidia Geoforce 6800Ultra video card. I've just bought an Nvidia Geoforce Go7800 GTX card and fitted it. I've installed windows7 and have flashed the bios with 1.00.09. I STILL cant get it to work though...just a blank screen at start up.
My motherboard revision code is V4.1. Can anybody please help me

Yes the 6800 ultra still works. I'm just wondering whether the motherboard version 4.1 cannot take the new card.

If the old card works in the system as-is and the new card doesn't, either:

    The new card is defective.

    The BIOS doesn't support the new card or;

The system cannot power up the new card properly.

Can you even see the BIOS options with the new card?

Are you using a powerful enough power brick to give all the juice the system needs?

Is there an updated BIOS for your system?

Have you tried with the battery installed and uninstalled?

Did it work before you upgraded the card's firmware?

Did the firmware update finish properly - or, did it get interrupted? If the battery was not installed when flashing the firmware, even the slightest black/brown out could have killed the card.

Finally, when you installed the card - were you properly grounded and the power cable and battery unplugged/removed?

Hopefully with the answers to the above, others might be able to help you better.

    Good luck.

Where did you buy the Go7800?

A lot of those failed, some were baked back to life. If you got it on ebay, I would return it.

Thanks to both of you for the response. I bought the card off ebay so there is a chance that the card could be not working. Regarding the installation, yes, i took all the precautions when installing the card and also when updating the bios. One of my concerns is that the motherboard revision cant take the card. Others, with the identical machine have managed to install this card but then again i dont know if their motherboard was a newer version.

Everything seems to be pointing to the card as being defective.

I highly doubt the revision of the M/B would have such a drastic effect (at least, you're not on v1.0) - the BIOS would be more the one to verify, but the M/B revision would be last on my list of concerns.

    Good luck.
