I'm new to this forum, so I this is my first post. Normally I'm just a reader, but this time I need some help with a technical problem.
The Story:
My GTX 980M died today - finally. My System is a Clevo P370SM-A from german reseller Schenker(MySN) called XMG724. I bought it used 3 weeks ago for a good price, but the temps on the 980m were never really good.
I did everything, modded cooling, repasted a few times, but after short time it always hits the temperature limit.
As I'm not the forum guy and couldn't download a modded vbios I had no choice as to mod my vbios myself and tried to undervolt the thing, but it wasn't very stable. With stock bios 1.025V under full load, undervolt was stable to 1.012V and I didn't gain much from it. ASIC Quality was over 77 percent.
In the end I decided to use it with stock bios, flashed it back and it was ok.
I have a dual boot system with xubuntu,the same day in the middle of a linux session the computer broke down suddenly and restarted. There was a newer Nvidia driver available and i updated through the xubuntu control panel for 3rd party drivers, but it took very long. after next restart xserver crashed - black screen. I reverted to nouveau driver and it was ok. In Windows the card was recognised but had error code 43.
Next few days i tried to get it working again, but I had no luck, could only use the computer with linux and nouveau driver.
Today I switched on the computer and it gave me 22 beeps and blinking led's, max fans and switches off.
After some research i found out that this is an ec related error and tried to install the HD7970m from a P150HM.
This worked perfectly, could install AMD Driver and use the computer normally, but i had to give it back.

but I would need some help with the measuring and maybe find the problem. I have all the necessary tools and some experience with electronic repairs, so any help would be appreciated.
The Card itself looks normal, nothing burnt or so, but the ram cooler part was always as hot as the core, which was never the case with my old P150HM and the HD7970M( sold it to a friend, who lend the card for testing.)
I can't really afford a new card, and trying to fix it would be worth it, at least experience wise.
