Hi, i have a Clevo M570TU and i want to upgrade the X9100 processor to QX9300 but i have a problem..
I have done the bios update from ver. 1.00.09 to 1.00.10 and the firmware update from 1.00.07 to 1.00.09 but when i replace the X9100 with QX9330 after the boot appear a black screen...![]()

Can you help me please?
Thanks

The M570TU does not support quad core processors. The fastest processor for your laptop is the X9100
K-TRON -
The M570TU's motherboard does not support Quad Cores.
The M570ETU's motherboard does. -
i feel very bad for u now. u prob plopped down a lot of dough for an incompatible part. off to ebay then.
-
But on clevo's site the M570TU configuration with QX9300 is available since one month!
http://www.clevo.com.tw/en/products/prodinfo_2.asp?productid=83
The reply of the seller:
Can you see BIOS post? Does BIOS detect the CPU as quad core? Did black screen happens when trying to load windows? My suggest:
1) make sure it is not heat problem due to heat sink not appropriate attached or not the right cooling heatsink for quad core.
2) Make sure it is not windows issue (driver, ect..) Try to reinstalled windows.
P.S.: sorry for my bad english -
New! Clevo M570ETU - updated M570TU with quad-core support
If your M570TU does not have the latest, revised motherboard, then you're stuck with dual cores.
Also, make sure you screwed in the CPU properly. -
-
Can i upgrade my motherboard with a new revised??
If yes, HOW?? -
Yea u can! but u gonna have to buy one from a reseller like Powernotebooks!
-
You can upgrade the motherboard, it should be a direct upgrade. For motherboards email CLEVO retailers such as RJTECH, XOTIC PC, and SAGER
You can simply sell your stock motherboard to make up most of the cost of the new motherboard
K-TRON -
Now i try to contact a Clevo retailer -
The motherboard is $480.
What do you think about the price? From others CLEVO retailers no reply.. -
I purchased the M570TU w/X9100 from a reseller of a certain builder (who will henceforth be referred to as FU). When I found out about the new motherboard a couple of months after my purchase, I contacted the reseller about the possibility of upgrading, who then told me to contact FU directly about such matters. So I contacted FU about upgrading to the new motherboard w/QX9300, and I was told I would get a $300 dollar credit towards the purchase of a M570ETU, which means it would have been cost prohibitive (i.e. thousands of dollars). I have no problem paying around $500-$600 for the upgrade, but I'm not willing to basically pay the full price of a new laptop just for the upgrade. I have tried to contact FU a couple of times since to clarify if it is possible to upgrade the motherboard and processor without doing a full-on trade-in, but my e-mails have gone unanswered.
[As an aside, my laptop also GJoDed in the first two weeks and was sent to me without having some of the drivers properly loaded.]
So is the general consensus that it is possible to get the laptop motherboard and processor upgraded from the M570TU dual-core @ 3.06GHz to the new motherboard w/quad-core @ 2.53GHz for under $1,000? Would a company like R&J Technology be willing to sell me this upgrade if I didn't purchase the laptop through them? -
Clevo,
talk to the guys at RJTECH.
Tell them you have a brand new M570 and you want to upgrade the motherboard to support quad cores.
Ask them if you could simply trade boards with say $100 to cover the difference. That way you get the board you need, and RJTECH could turn around and sell your board.

I already have new QX9300...
I have a doubt...will the nvidia 9800M GTX compatible whit new M/B??
Thanks -
I cant imagine how different it will be, it should only be a chipset difference between the M570TU and the M570ETU.
I would think that the motherboard swap would go fine, and everything would work, but the guys at RJTECH are pretty knowledgeable, so I wonder why they state that it is impossible.
You have another option. Email BIOSMAN, and ask for a custom BIOS which supports the quad core processors. See if that is possible, that will be much easier than upgrading your entire system
http://www.biosman.com/
K-TRON -
I remember Pin configuration is different....
-
Oh, well if the pinout is different than the Bios modification wont work regardless
K-TRON -
I have emailed BIOSMAN but i'm yet waiting for a reply
Thanks -
A new motherboard will support the processor.
However kaltmond reminded me that the core 2 duo and core 2 quads have different voltage pinouts, so a simple BIOS configuration from BIOSMAN most likely will not work
K-TRON -
in effect, here the Biosman's response:
Hello, we can only use the BIOS files provided by the motherboard mfg. You should check any BIOS notes they may have to verify the BIOSs capabilities of what it can support. We can not alter or change the BIOS files
I only can buy the new M570ETU from RJTECH and hope..
Ah, you don't say me if the nVidia 9800 GTX will be compatible with new M/B -
I think your 9800GTX will be compatible with the new motherboard. You may want to ask RJTECH, because I am not 100% sure.
Gophn may know, you may want to send him a PM
K-TRON -
Before i disassemble my barebone..do you know if old heatsink will good?
About my 9800M GTX, Gophn told me that will be compatible -
I have no idea what your heatsink looks like. Its best to listen to the guys at RJTECH, they do their job for a living. I dont know what your heatsink looks like since I do not own that system
I bet its very similar or the exact same heatsink, I hope everything works out for you.
Worse case scenario, you have to buy a new heatsink for say $50
K-TRON -
Can I have your old X9100
-
-
Hi guys, finally i have done the upgrade of my M570TU motherboard to M570 ETU and the upgrade of cpu from X9100 to QX9300 too!
All ok, my clevo is very powerful now and the drives are all working except the wireless card....exactly the wireless card don't start immediately after the boot but after more or less 45 min. a new reboot
I have execute a formatting, a windows update and a drivers update too but nothing, wireless don't work correctly
Why??
Thanks -
Did you plug the antennas onto the right sockets on your wireless card?
And did you plug the wireless card into the right minipcie socket?
K-TRON -
-
Did you try that wireless card in another mini pcie port, if there is another available?
K-TRON -
In this moment i arranged with a USB adapter....
Ah, the hibernation dosen't work too...
