    Hello,
I have a lappy built with 750GB hybrid seagate HDD but I can nowhere reach the near SSD fast boot ups and the Windows experience rating in actually lowest on my HDD which is 5.9 and when looking into Speccy, it says my HDD has a SATA type II: 3gb/s whereas seller claims its a 6bg/s.

I have hard time understanding my hard drive, I think its underperforming. Here's a screenshot of how it looks like. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

    Cheers.

I don't think you are going to get a faster boot up with that. It is a hybrid so you have a large NAND flash cache. The actual boot up happens from the hard drive itself. I don't believe that windows is stored on the flash part of it. Read this.

As for the WEI, this should give you some insight.

You see, HHDs only cache data on the flash part so it is available faster if it is frequently used.

    SATA II vs. SATA III:
The 2nd Gen Hybrid XT is a SATA III based drive, but you will only see speeds from data which has made its way to the NAND cache. You can also check the model # on your drive. I believe "ST750LX003" is the correct model # for the 2nd Gen XT.

Also, you need to check your lappy and to what port the XT is connected. If it is connected into a SATA II port (or your lappy only supports SATA II), you may not see it as a SATA III device.

    Benches:
Don't use WEI to determine the capabilities of your drive, instead use a disk benching tool such as ATTO or HDTach. If you want a comparison, here are some benches from my 1st Gen XTs on SATA II: [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Boot Times:
How did you load the OS onto your system? From a fresh install? If not, you'll need multiple boots until the OS files make it into the NAND portion. You can search for "Fast Factor BOOT" for more info or take a look at the 7th paragraph talking about fast boots from the 2nd Gen XT in this article - Seagate's Momentus XT 750GB hybrid hard drive - The Tech Report - Page 1
