    Hello everyone!

Trying to install ram on my Clevo P170EM.

Currently, when I insert any RAM into the RAM slots under the keyboard, the laptop will fail to boot and shut itself off.

Curious as to why it won't accept it?

    GSkill 2x8GB kits were used @ 1600Mhz, 10-10-10 timing.

The version of Windows won't stop the system from booting (it just won't utilize all available RAM, even if it shows it as installed; right click computer; properties).

The type of processor and/or MB chipset may interfere though; what are the system specs?

I would simply try different RAM and/or different order of installed RAM (one stick may be bad).

I'm assuming that you are using identical 4x 8GB Sodimms too?

    Good luck.
