Does anyone know what the best case upgrade for this machine is? With all of these 3.0b cards coming out... 980, 1060, 1070... etc. It's hard to tell what is actually compatible with this machine.

    The BIOS is as follows:
    Prema version 2.17.1246 Prema Mod
    Clevo P750ZM BIOS 1.03.15PM V2

I'm not entirely sure what the vbios is, or where I could find that information. But I would really appreciate some information as to what my upgrade options are.

Ideally I'd like to upgrade to the GTX 1070, but if that's not possible I imagine the 1060 is axed as well. Is the mobile 980 able to be put in the machine? If all else fails, I'll end up with a 980m.

Someone's willing to sell me a 980m, but it's a MSI card. Will this pose issues with a Clevo machine?

Sorry if these questions seem haphazard... I know how to swap out components in a laptop (had to throw in a 765m in it currently). But I don't really know much about compatibility other than the slot. BIOS and vBIOS compatibility is just above my pay grade heh :p

tagging @Prema for details on this one.

afaik, the ZM series so far hasnt been made compatible with Pascal cards, so 980M is the pinnacle for now. open to be corrected though ;) however, maybe, just maybe, you could get away with an MSI 1060 or a Pascal based Quadro (P5000M, P4000M, P3000M, P4200M, P5200M), as they all come in standard MXM 3.0b form factor and without an external power cable, thus no chassis or power modding necessary.

edit: there is a mention of a ZM upgraded with an MSI 1070: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/successful-mxm-gpu-upgraded-laptops.805136/

I had seen that earlier, but the link is to a Chinese forums. There are a few pictures, but it’s pretty hard to see what’s going on. Anyone know what it says there? I imagine it wasn’t as plug and play as other options... but if I can get it working flawlessly that would be great. I’d just need instructions, and I can’t read Chinese haha.

Anyone at least know if MSI cards can be compatible with a Clevo machine? Do you have to modify the inf files? (Much like I had to do with the dell 765m?)

Might as well just get the 980m, and hope someone with more knowledge tries a pascal card at some point.
