Alright, I've been doing some research... and I think I've confused myself around in circles.

So, I've been looking into something that could fit inside of a clevo p751zm (p750zm) and I figured it was a MXM 3.0a slot, so I started looking for a cheap MXM 3.0a chip to tide me over until eurocom comes out with their chips.

However, upon looking into things further it looks like some 980m chips follow the MXM 3.0b slot... which makes me wonder... is the slot 3.0a or 3.0b? And what is 3.1... is the 3.1 the 10xx cards?

    Appreciate any clarification

it uses a mxm 3.0b card and a MSI gtx1060 could be compatible (not tested yet)

someone upgraded that p750zm with a MSI gtx1070 with some modding (not mxm 3.0b)

Huh, interesting. Thanks! Any idea on the time frame for those 1070/1080 cards? Eurocom stated in a tweet they are working on vega standard MXM cards for 2018. Curious if they will be before or after

Any idea what the cheapest 3.0b chip would be that I could throw in this thing? When I receive the laptop, I'd at least like to boot it up... even if I have to wait awhile for Eurocom to release their chips :p

I would prefer something relatively plug and play... I've only changed out a GPU once in a laptop, and that was straight forward... no tinkering with settings or vBIOS or anything.

Sicily, I appreciate all the help!

Unfortunately the 965m/970m is a little out of my price range for something that's just going to tide me over until November/December.

Would you know if any of these cards would work in the P751zm without having to mess with the BIOS or vBIOS?

I'm thinking the first and last one would be compatible, but unfortunately the 2nd one looks like it wouldn't fit the heatsink very well would it?

Guess we will find out :p. Snagged a 765m for $65 on eBay.

It's 3.0b, I just hope everything else works. If not, I imagine I can get $40-50 for it.
