This is probably old news, but the P775DM3-G does support the ChiMei N173HHE-G32 screen.

It should. We need people to test it. Waiting on @bloodhawk

We did test this today, that's why I made the post. It requires the same 40-pin lcd cable as for the 3K 120Hz and 4K G-Sync screen. I believe the 5ms screen which HIDevolution offers is also this ChiMei screen.

Is it? @Donald@HIDevolution
If it is, I say all the laptops should just get it as a standard offering if it fits xD
The P670 would get a good selling point from it, the 15" has 120Hz but the 17" doesn't. Kind of silly on Clevo's part.Donald@Paladin44 likes this. -

Not really...the supply is limited so they are allocating the available units to the LGA based laptops.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
Ah. Hopefully you get more soon.
I kind of want one too xDDonald@Paladin44 likes this. -

Hi, guys. I don't own a P775DMx or a P870DMx but wanted to ask if the AUO B173HAN01.1 120hz gsync variant is 30 edp pin? I asked the seller and said it was 30 but the other sellers and sources say it's 40 which is kinda confusing. Hope someone with the panel would clarify. Thanks!
-
Yeah. Saw that one. The weird thing is there are two variants of the 1.1. One is 60hz and the other 120hz. Wanted to clarify if the 120hz variant is still 30 pins.

The final answer is, it is 30 pin.D2 Ultima, ranjim and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
Thanks a lot! Will get it then. It’s just weird that some sellers have it at 40 pins (B173HAN01.1 and B173HAN01.2) variants on ebay.Donald@Paladin44 likes this.

Hi everyone.. sorry to revive this thread but I'm willing to test some of the new 120Hz screens in an old Alienware 17 R1 (I know the thread is for Clevo systems) with the original eDP40 pin connector cable the laptop came with.
So far my research these are the model:
N173HHE-G32 30pin and 40pin variants
B173HAN01.2 40pin connector @ 120Hz
B173HAN01.1 30pin connector @ 60Hz
Just care for better "less aggressive" matt coating and better color reproduction between the two. I'm aware I will not have G-Sync and I don't care about it now.
So between the N173HHE-G32 40pin and B173HAN01.2 40pin with which one I have more chances to make it work properly? Wish me luck!
-
You won't have it fit. Different eDP revision and different pin number too. You'd need a hell of a converter, and that's assuming they fit.
But by all means, feel free to attempt. However the B173HAN01.2 is a terrible screen and I suggest avoiding it entirely.Nomad likes this. -
Mm ok I thought that the only challenge was how to mount it properly. I'd only focus on a N173HHE-G32 with a eDP of 40pin connector to do the experiment..
Thanks!
It's just that I'm doing my best to not change the laptop, which I really like. -
It was a good unit, yeah. But no, there's a lot more difference.Nomad likes this.
