Would it be possible to built a controller that changes the contrast, brightness and saturation of the laptop's display without going into the OS just like desktops monitors can? This would benefits laptops with HDMI-In, as that connection goes straight to the monitor ignoring all the calibration that you did in the OS. The only thing that works is the Fn+F4 and F5 which changes the brightness of the screen, so maybe there is a way to do that with contrast and saturation.

Here are some of the buttons that most desktop monitors have in order to calibrate the display for those didnt get the part above.

Would this work too? Color3 Advanced HDMI Color Processing Device - Newegg.com

How do they work? Do you connect the laptops HDMI-in to the device HDMI-out, then the Wii U (for example) to the device's HDMI in, and finally change the color settings in the device?

That one is not the same thing.
google 3d lut box. Essentially same as how you calibrate a monitor with your computer, but in this instance, the box hold the conversion instead of the PC.

Damn, they sure are expensive. I just got the eeColor Consumer model for $20 in order to test it out, and I have been enjoying the preset 6 so far. The colors are at least bearable now unlike the calibrated colors of the display, so thank you for the recommendation of these devices as I didnt even know that they existed.
