Hey everyone. I've a little problem with my ASUS ROG G752VY which is running Windows 10 (64bit). Whenever I start up my system, I see the ROG logo on the startup immediately prior to seeing vertical lines appear on the screen. The lines then disappear and the screen sits blank for a minute or two before restarting loading up my password screen without issue. I do not experience any problem at present with my 980M when I play games and I have also updated the drivers however doing so has made no difference. I'm unsure what this problem is, nor how to fix it, so any help would be much appreciated.
The vertical lines are coloured light green, red/pink, dark green and blue separated by black and repeats to the edge of the screen - if that means anything. I can attempt to upload a picture if you think it'll help?
Cheers.

you should RMA, sounds like bad v ram. perhaps even try update your bios if your comfortable with that

If you get video artifacts at the BIOS screen, it means that the hardware is bad. At POST, your drivers aren't even loaded yet, so yeah RMA that. It's a hardware issue, not a software one. On a side note, moving this to the hardware subforum as a result.

Thanks for your advice. The vertical lines appear after the ASUS ROG splash screen, does this mean that it's an issue happening with Windows rather than the BIOS? I also get no artifacting or FPS drops when playing games such as Battlefield 1 and The Witcher 3.
All this appears to be moot as the laptop appears to be completely goosed. I now get a white screen of death immediately at startup. Ah well, guess I'll have to RMA (laptop is well within its warranty anyway).
EDIT: Managed to get back into Windows again and everything appears normal. Such a strange issue. I'll try reformatting the system while I still can.Last edited: May 15, 2017 -
In that case, it may technically be a driver related issue if it happens when Windows is loading. Have you tried booting into safe mode, that will avoid loading the nVidia driver. If you still get issues, it is likely the problem is at the hardware level.
