Hey folks,
I've got an HP TC4200 with a DIY SSD. I'm using an Addonics dual CF adapter and a Transcend 300x CF as the master drive. For the past three months I've had the slave channel empty, but I recently picked up a Ridata 233x CF to fill it out.
The problem is that I can't get the Ridata drive to work in UDMA mode (and I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with the card as Ridata's site says that the card supports UDMA 4). I've Googled and Googled a few times, but everyone just says to uninstall the IDE channel and this doesn't work for me.
One strange thing is that while the Windows device manager tells me the Ridata drive is working in PIO mode whereas HDTune actually says it's working in UDMA mode. Nonetheless I only get about 1.5MB read from the drive with excessive CPU utilization, so I'm pretty sure it's still in PIO mode.
Any help would be appreciated. PIO mode is slow as hell and I'm stumped.

Have you tryed just removing the device in the device manager and reboot directly after it's removed to see if that helps?
This usualy helps removing any PIO-mode being used on the device you're removing. -

Commander, I think you are having problems because those adaptors only work with the same compact flash card.
I have the same addonics adaptor, and it works flawlessly with two identical adata cards I have in it. If I put a lexar and an adata card it does not work properly.
I would recommend returning your ridata and buy an identical transcend card.

You can never be to sureI thought you meant the IDE-channel and not the drive/device itself

I'm going to email Addonics and see what they have to say about this...
