I've seen a few vendors offering 3GB memory in this unit.. is this the max it can take or can it do 4gb?

It appears this is the internal ABG wireless card:

    Its mini pcie..

Does this imply I could take, for instance, the mini pcie Wireless Draft N card used in the newer Dells and put it in the Hel80 and it would work ?

    Thanks for any info.

for info on whether the Compal can have more than 3gb, goto this thread (the VBI Compal hel80 dosen't support more than 2. XP supports a max of 2.8 GB ram, you need vista to support more)

If its a HEL80 then its non VBI. If its a EL80 then it is.

You can double check this by going to your start menu, and going to run.
    Type "dxdiag"

On the window that pops up is a short list of your system specs. Under "system Model" it will tell you whether its a EL or HEL model.
