    Compaq Armada 7800 Install Windows XP

    I Have Just gotten a new laptop and i did a fresh install with windows 2000 and I was going to procede to install windows XP on this machine and the setup was giving me an error it is as follows Setup Cannot Upgrade your current installation to Windows XP. your Current Installation of windows is not supported by an upgrade path setup cannot continue

    Can someone please point me in the right direction all replys will be greatly appreciated

    Well, I didnt quite understand this first part of your question

    There is no direct upgrade path from Win 2000 to Win XP Home. Sadly the only available option is from Win 2000 to Win XP Pro...

    you need to boot from the CD, not install from inside your current version of windows.
