I just bought a compaq m2105us off ebay that has the lovely blue screen of death problem. My toshiba had the same problem, i replaced the processor and all was fine. I am going to replace the cpu in the compaq to clear up the problem but I would like to upgrade it with a faster cpu but I am not sure what other cpu are supported with the motherboard. Any ideas??

The M2105US is an AMD-based notebook, right? You might need to clean the dust out of the heatsink but I seriously doubt the CPU has gone bad.

Get the service guide from hp.com. Go to the downloads page for your notebook and click the Manuals link on the left-hand side.

yes its a AMD Sempron. I haven't gotten laptop yet but I am sure thats whats wrong is that its just clogged, but seeing that they are extremely cheap I would pick one up just in case.

I'd wait for it to arrive. BSODs can be caused by all kinds of things, ram, cpu, hard disk, motherboard...
