    I have just made a deal on a low-mileage Compaq R3210US, and I would like advice on increasing the RAM.

    The standard set-up is AMD XP-M 3000 1.6Ghz, 60 Gig, but only 256Mb in one of the two memory bays. I'd like to add 512Mb to the open bay, but the choices are making my head spin.

    Is all PC2700 DDR 333Mhz memory essentially the same, or is there an advantage in paying twice as much for one as for another? Is one memory source consistantly less expensive than the others?

    I only use my computer for internet selling & word processing, though with the BrightView screen, I guess I'll be watching the occassional DVD . . .

    Thanks in advance.

    Just get the cheapest big-name brand, such as kingmax, corsair, kingston, etc. Newegg.com is my favorite place.

    * Inspiron 8600c * 1.8ghz Pentium M * 128 MB Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo * 2x512 MB DDR2700 SDRAM * 60GB 7200RPM HDD *

    I see them listed with 184 pins and with 200 pins.

    How do I tell which would be appropriate for my computer?
