I'm looking to buy a gig of ram for my computer. It's about 2 years old...

Anyway, right now I have kingston DDR2 PC2-4300 (266 MHz) ram. (this works)

    I want to get Kingston 1GB DDR2 PC2-5300 SODIMM (667 MHz) 200 pin

Are these the same thing? Would this new ram work?

It would work, but it would be downclocked to 533MHz, so it doesn't really matter if you get that or the stock pc4300 ram.
